These terms govern use of ImageCheck (“the bot”), a Discord moderation bot operated by an independent developer (“the operator”). By adding the bot to a Discord server, using its commands, or participating in a server where it is active, you accept these terms. Use of the bot must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
1. What the bot does
The bot automatically scans media posted in participating servers (attachments, link previews, and media links in messages) and compares it against blocklists curated by server moderators. Blocklists can be shared between servers on an invite or join-code basis. When posted media matches a blocklist entry, the bot deletes the message and applies the action the server's administrators have configured (warning DM, timeout, or ban), and records the event in the server's log channel.

2. Server administrators' responsibilities
Administrators who add the bot to a server are responsible for:
- choosing which blocklists to subscribe to and which enforcement actions to apply — enforcement outcomes (deletions, timeouts, bans) are moderation decisions of that server, carried out by the bot as configured;
- making their members aware that posted media is automatically scanned;
- restricting access to the bot's log channel appropriately, since it receives moderation evidence (copies of blocked images) and member-identifying enforcement records;
- reviewing entries they add to shared lists, and using the whitelist, exemption, and sensitivity features responsibly.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use blocklists to harass, defame, or target individuals or communities, or add entries for any purpose other than good-faith content moderation;
- add entries whose possession or distribution is unlawful;
- attempt to evade, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the scanner, or systematically test content against blocklists;
- abuse list invitations or join codes (spam, unauthorized sharing, or circumventing another server's invite blocks);
- use the bot in violation of Discord's terms or applicable law.
4. Shared blocklists
Blocklist entries are contributed by participating communities, not by the operator. Subscribing to a list means trusting its curators; the operator does not review, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of entries on community lists. List owners may add or remove subscriber servers, and servers may unsubscribe at any time.
5. Availability and accuracy
The bot is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. There is no guarantee of uptime, and features may change or be discontinued. Media matching is perceptual, not exact: false positives (legitimate media blocked) and false negatives (listed media not caught) can occur. The bot is a moderation aid, not a guarantee that unwanted content will be removed.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the bot — including moderation actions taken in servers that use it, unavailability of the service, or the content of community-curated blocklists. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the bot (the bot is free, so nothing).
7. Termination
Server administrators may remove the bot at any time. The operator may suspend or remove the bot from any server, block specific servers or users from the list-sharing network, or discontinue the service, particularly in response to abuse of these terms. Sections 5–6 survive termination.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated as the bot evolves; the current version is always available at this page, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Questions about these terms: use the contact form.
